Hello Cleveland fountain pen enthusiasts!!

Autumn and fountain pen season are both upon us—which I say very happily. This weekend was delightful with the annual Pelikan Hub on Friday night and our own Cleveland Pen Club meetup on Sunday afternoon. Fourteen people attended the pen club, including some newcomers. The pens and inks were beautiful and the discussion engaging, as we’ve come to expect. Eric was a good sport and participated in the 20 Questions game I am really enjoying. It draws everyone in and sparks great discussion. Many received extra gifts of ink from the Pelikan Hub, beautiful gift boxes containing a postcard, a notepad, and Pelikan’s current ink of the year, Pelikan Edelstein Apricot Achat. Two coming events. First, the Ohio Pen Show is this weekend, October 30 – November 2 at the Crown Plaza Columbus North, 6500 Doubletree Avenue, Columbus, Ohio. If you are planning to attend and stay overnight, I suggest making your reservation as soon as possible. For more information, visit www.theohiopenshow.com. Look for me there beginning Friday afternoon. Our club doesn’t have a table, but I will be present at the show distributing our new postcards, attached!

Second, Fountain Pen Day is coming up on November 7. This has become a tradition on the first Friday of November each year. Look for a lot of buzz online as well as specials and discounts from fountain pen retailers.

The next fountain pen show in the U.S. is the Philly Pen Show scheduled for January 16-18, 2026, followed by the LA show Feb 19–22 and Baltimore-Washington Mar 6–8. The next meeting of the Cleveland Pen Club will be January 25, 2026, at 1:30PM – 3:30PM at the Cuyahoga County Public Library, Independence Branch, 6361 Selig Dr, Independence, OH 44131. We meet quarterly on the fourth Sundays in January, April, July and October.
